short.games is operated by two people in Sweden. This page covers short.games and the games hosted on its subdomains, including pokethebear.short.games, canyondash.short.games, quiz.short.games, dicehold.short.games, flagstep.short.games, and galaxydefender.short.games.

What we store

Playing a game does not require an account. A few games keep a local best in your browser (localStorage). That stays on your device until you clear it.

Leaderboards, when a game has one, store the name you type, the score or time, a room name if you used one, and a two-letter country code. The country comes from the Cloudflare header CF-IPCountry when it is present, otherwise from a lookup of the IP address. The IP itself is not shown on the board.

Quiz stores the questions you write, the answer key, player names, and picks, until 14 days after the quiz closes. Then that quiz is deleted.

The contact form stores the category, name, email, message, time, and IP address so we can read the note and reply. Messages are kept until we have dealt with them, and no longer than 12 months.

Ads

Some pages show ads through Google AdSense (publisher ca-pub-6331307252567307). Google may set cookies and use data about your visit to serve and measure ads. You can control ad personalisation in Google’s ad settings. Their policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

Cookies

The contact form uses a session cookie so the captcha can be checked. It expires when the browser session ends. AdSense may set its own cookies, described above. We do not run a separate analytics product.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. A message is emailed to us if a mail address is configured. Leaderboard names and scores are public on that game’s board. Hosting is on Hostinger; traffic may pass through Cloudflare.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK you can ask for a copy of data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. Use the contact form and pick Other. Say which game and which name you used. We may ask you to confirm the email on the form.
